SOAR: A Handbook for Closing the Achievement Gap

The SOAR program works in any school or classroom to help disadvantaged or at-risk students cross the achievement gap to school success. It goes far beyond the usual after-school academic tutoring concept by building relationships, community connections, leadership skills, social skills, and cultural experiences. This handbook gives a step by step plan to move toward the already-proven results: remarkable improvement in students’ grades, test scores, school attendance, behavior, and self-confidence.
